1. Alice Vaidyan has been appointed as the chairman and managing director of the General Insurance Corporation of India (GIC Re). She is the first woman to be appointed in such post not only in the GIC Re, but the first in the Indian insurance sector. The GIC Re is the 14th largest reinsurer globally and is the only reinsurance company in India.
एलिस वैद्यन को भारतीय साधारण बीमा निगम (जीआईसी री) का चेयरपर्सन और प्रबंध निदेशक नियुक्त किया गया है। वह न केवल जीआईसी री में इस पद पर नियुक्त होने वाली पहली महिला हैं बल्कि भारतीय बीमा क्षेत्र में भी पहली महिला हैं। जीआईसी री दुनिया की 14वीं सबसे बड़ी पुनर्बीमा कंपनी है और भारत की एकमात्र पुनर्बीमा कंपनी है।

1. India, one of the founding members of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), has been elected to the board of directors of the China-sponsored AIIB.
